Learn about St. Mary’s 2

St. Mary’s National School is a mixed mainstream school under Church of Ireland
patronage. It has three mainstream class teachers, 1 Full-time Special Education
Teacher and 1 Part time Special Education Teacher. There are 60 pupils currently on
roll.

We encourage the pupils to participate in a wide variety of activities, such as; French,
music, soccer, dance, sowing vegetable, not to mention the school curriculum! We
endeavour to ensure all children are given the utmost opportunity to reach their full
potential.
We pride ourselves as a Green school. Our Green School Programme is also an integral
part of the curriculum. We have to date secured Green Flags on the following themes:

Waste Management
Energy Conservation
Water
Travel
Biodiversity

Each area is thoroughly explored within the school community and every possible
opportunity is taken to link in with the wider community. The nature and content of each
theme has become deeply embedded in the culture of our school over the past number of years.
